About Us

Indiana Standardbred Farm

Located in northern Indiana in the heartland of America, Cornerstone Stock Farm is situated on prime mineral rich farmland near Shipshewana, Indiana. Our goal is simple and focused:  To raise horses and sell yearlings that can go on to be stakes winners in Indiana, Ohio and beyond. We’re committed to doing things the right way. Nutrition plays a key role in our program and we rely on the experts at Hallway Feeds in Lexington, KY to feed our mares, babies and yearlings. Pasture is abundant on the farm, and our custom designed grass blend has been carefully planned to provide everything we need to raise quality horses.

Raising Rugged Yearlings the Right Way

We strongly believe a horse was intended to be raised outside. Other than coming in monthly for trimming, worming and necessary vaccinations, our horses are raised running our spacious pastures, just where mother nature intended them to be. In the end, the goal of this philosophy is to ensure our yearlings are rugged and have the proper bone density, joint strength and muscle development to go to be winners on the track.

Professional Care

We don’t cut corners with our livestock at Cornerstone. Each month, industry veteran Jim Sammons travels to our farm from Kentucky to provide hoof care for our mares, babies and yearlings. We begin trimming our babies at 30 days of age, and from that point until they are sold in the fall of their yearling year, they are trimmed every 30 days. The same goes for worming and vaccinations; we don’t miss. All this ensures that when you purchase a Cornerstone yearling, you can rest assured everything possible was done to give that horse a chance to be a champion.
